HB 507 Alcoholic beverage control; mixed beverage special event lecenses for art education & exhibition.
Introduced by: M. Keith Hodges | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles | history
SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Alcoholic beverage control; annual banquet license for wine and beer. Expands the annual mixed beverage special events license to a duly organized private nonprofit corporation or association operating an art education and exhibition facility.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Alcoholic beverage control; annual banquet license for wine and beer. Expands the annual banquet license for any duly organized private nonprofit fraternal, patriotic, or charitable organization that is exempt from state and federal taxation to include public events held by the licensee for the purpose of featuring and educating the consuming public about the licensee's fraternal, patriotic, or charitable mission and to sell wine or beer in closed containers in rooms or areas approved by the ABC Board during fund-raising events conducted by the licensee for off-premises consumption. Current law allows such licensees to use this license for banquets conducted exclusively for its members and their guests and to serve wine and beer in rooms or areas approved by the Board for the occasion for on-premises consumption in such rooms or areas. The bill limits the licensee to conducting no more than 12 such events per calendar year and increases the state and local license taxes for this expanded license.
