SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission created. Creates the Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission, which is composed of the chief elected officers of the governing bodies of the 14 localities in Planning District 23, two senators, three delegates, and four nonvoting ex officio members. The bill moves the responsibility for approval of projects and the priority of such projects pursuant to the Hampton Roads Transportation Fund from the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO) to the Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission (HRTAC). The bill also directs the HRTPO and VDOT to assist the new HRTAC in its formation. This bill is identical to SB 513.
