Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Board of Education shall promulgate regulations to increase the number of students and the number of grade levels that are eligible for an expedited retake of Standards of Learning assessments. The regulations shall permit students in grades three through five who score in the 390 to 399 range on a Standards of Learning assessment to (i) receive focused remediation and (ii)  [ take an alternative assessment in the established testing window. retake the assessment in the established testing window. ]
