14102220DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 24.2-403 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 24.2-403. Persons under 18 years of age.
A. Any person who is otherwise qualified and is 16 years of age or older shall be permitted to register to vote. Except as provided in subsection B, this early registration shall not permit such person to vote in any election occurring prior to his eighteenth birthday.
B. Any
person who is otherwise qualified and will be 18 years of age on or before the
day of the next general election shall be permitted to
register in advance and also vote in any intervening
primary or special election. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the
contrary, any person who is otherwise qualified and will be 18 years of age on
or before the day of the next November general presidential election shall be
permitted to register in advance of
and also vote in any intervening presidential primary and
any other primary held on the same day as the presidential primary.
