2014 SESSION
14104319DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Department of Transportation shall provide an objective, quantitative rating pursuant to § 33.1-13.03:1 to determine the degree to which providing additional lane capacity on some of all of the segment of Interstate 66 between the Potomac River and Interstate 495 would reduce congestion and improve regional mobility in the event of a homeland security emergency. Increases in lane capacity of one and two lanes in each direction shall be considered, as well as non-HOV service on some or all lanes 24 hours each day, as well as other possible changes the Department might consider. The Department shall make this information public in accordance with § 33.1-13.03:1 no later than December 31, 2014.
