14101150DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding sections numbered 16.1-69.19:1 and 17.1-102.1 as follows:
§ 16.1-69.19:1. General Assembly member not qualified for judgeship.
No member of the General Assembly shall be qualified to be elected or appointed a judge during the term for which he was elected a member of the General Assembly nor for the four years following the expiration of such term.
§ 17.1-102.1. General Assembly member not qualified for judgeship.
No member of the General Assembly shall be qualified to be elected or appointed a justice or judge during the term for which he was elected a member of the General Assembly nor for the four years following the expiration of such term.
