SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Performance review of state agencies. Requires the Office of the State Inspector General to develop and implement an audit work plan using existing funding and in coordination with other pertinent agencies, as appropriate, to schedule executive branch agencies for performance reviews in order to evaluate agencies for evidence of waste, fraud, and abuse. Under the bill, the plan must be completed and made available to the Governor and the General Assembly on or before July 1, 2014.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Performance review of state agencies. Requires that the Office of the State Inspector General conduct a performance review of each executive branch agency at least every four years. The effective date of the bill is July 1, 2015.
