SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Local beautification projects. Requires localities that intend to install plant materials in a public right-of-way in connection with a local beautification project to provide advance notice thereof to VDOT. The bill requires any locality that violates the law in carrying out such project to bear the cost of bringing the project into compliance with the law.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Local beautification projects. Requires localities that intend to install plant materials in a public right-of-way in connection with a local beautification project to provide at least 30 days' advance notice thereof to VDOT's State Maintenance Engineer. The bill requires any locality that violates the law in carrying out such project to bear the cost of bringing the project into compliance with the law.
