13100513DWHEREAS, Virginia Wright Fields, a loving mother, devoted friend, and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Chilhowie, died on September 19, 2012; and
WHEREAS, a native of Washington County, Virginia Fields was the daughter of James and Kathleen Sawyers Wright and grew up in a large household as one of six siblings; and
WHEREAS, Virginia Fields took great pride in her own family as it grew across the generations to include four children, 17 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, as an usher at First Baptist Church of Chilhowie, Virginia Fields warmly welcomed visitors as they joined the vibrant congregation for worship, music, and fellowship; and
WHEREAS, Virginia Fields touched the lives of countless individuals over the course of her life with her warm heart and caring spirit and provided wise insight and compassionate care to those in need; and
WHEREAS, Virginia Fields leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Nathaniel, Michelle, Stephen, and Tonya, and their families, and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of a respected member of the Chilhowie community, Virginia Wright Fields; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Virginia Wright Fields as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for her memory.
