WHEREAS, Godfrey Morris Curd, an upstanding citizen of the small community of Meadowview in Washington County and a veteran of the United States Army, died on August 19, 2012; and

WHEREAS, the son of Mose and Mattie Terry Curd, Morris Curd grew up in a large and busy household with his six brothers and three sisters; and

WHEREAS, as a young man, Morris Curd joined the United States Army, honorably serving his country during the Vietnam era while stationed in Germany; and

WHEREAS, a long-time resident of Washington County, Morris Curd touched the lives of countless individuals over the course of his life and enjoyed fellowship and worship at River Bend Pentecostal Church; and

WHEREAS, a devoted family man, Morris Curd will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Meryl; children, Gregory, Jeffrey, Jennifer, and Lisa, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of a respected citizen of Washington County, Godfrey Morris Curd; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Godfrey Morris Curd as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
