HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 215
Commending Crestwood Elementary School.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 21, 2013

 

WHEREAS, Crestwood Elementary School proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary of providing a quality education to its students in 2012; and

WHEREAS, founded in 1962, Crestwood Elementary School, located in the park-like Crestwood Farms subdivision in Chesterfield County, has grown to nearly 600 students; and

WHEREAS, Crestwood Elementary School remains dedicated to its mission of helping all of its students reach their potential, promoting self-esteem, and developing in students an appreciation for the values of citizenship and lifelong learning; and

WHEREAS, Crestwood Elementary School has an educational philosophy based on teaching the whole child, encouraging a growth mindset, and using assessments to improve teaching, learning, and leadership; and

WHEREAS, Crestwood Elementary School celebrates school spirit day on Fridays and has the monarch butterfly as its mascot and black and orange as the school colors; and

WHEREAS, Crestwood Elementary School students thrive in a nurturing environment led by innovative administrators, caring teachers, and supportive staff and parents; and

WHEREAS, Crestwood Elementary School looks forward to continuing to provide its students with a superior education in the future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Crestwood Elementary School hereby be commended on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lisa Rockwell, principal of Crestwood Elementary School, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ congratulations and admiration for the school’s commitment to its students.
