Commending the Lake Braddock Secondary School Counseling Services.

WHEREAS, the Lake Braddock Secondary School Counseling Services have been honored as a Recognized ASCA Model Program by the American School Counselor Association; and

WHEREAS, the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) award recognizes schools that provide an outstanding, data-driven counseling program; 36 schools nationwide received the designation, which is valid for three years; and

WHEREAS, the counseling program at Lake Braddock Secondary School High School was exceptional among this group, receiving a perfect score in all 12 categories that were evaluated by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA); and

WHEREAS, each of the Lake Braddock counselors—Alka Howard, Deb Brown, Gary Ranallo, John Way, Denise Lee, Megan Cashman, Lynn Carrera, Tim Pitkewicz, Naomi Freedman, Lynda Samek-Smith, Judy Edwards, Mary Bresser, Ian Brodie, Sylvia Coleman, Lynn Weaver, Tracy Butler-Johnson, and Kristin Girardin—contributed to the excellence of the program; and

WHEREAS, the Lake Braddock Secondary School Counseling Services will officially be awarded RAMP designations on July 2, 2013, at the ASCA national conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the Lake Braddock Secondary School Counseling Services programs have made a difference in the lives of countless students, allowing them to focus on achieving greatness in and out of the classroom; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Lake Braddock Secondary School Counseling Services hereby be commended on receiving the Recognized ASCA Model Program designation; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Lake Braddock Secondary School Counseling Services as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the dedication of the programs to addressing the needs of all Lake Braddock Secondary School students.
