2013 SESSION
13104998DWHEREAS, the Hindu Temple of Virginia, known as the Balaji Temple, celebrated its relocation to a new location in Sterling in 2012; and
WHEREAS, the Hindu Temple of Virginia was founded on December 5, 2009, by two highly experienced and scholarly Hindu priest brothers; and
WHEREAS, the Hindu Temple of Virginia brings together Americans of Indian origin to worship in a traditional Indian manner, celebrate their rich heritage and festivals, and share their cultural values and customs with the rising generation; and
WHEREAS, the Hindu Temple of Virginia members, part of the rich cultural fabric of the Commonwealth, make many valuable contributions as they work in a variety of professions and businesses and contribute to their local communities; and
WHEREAS, the Hindu Temple of Virginia looks forward to continuing to serve its members and the greater community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Hindu Temple of Virginia hereby be commended for its commitment to preserving the religious and cultural heritage of its members; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Hindu Temple of Virginia as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the temple’s dedication to its members and the community.
