WHEREAS, Stone Ridge, a master-planned community near Arcola, offers an exceptional place for Northern Virginians and people from around the United States to call home in Loudoun County; and

WHEREAS, located near Dulles International Airport and with easy access to Washington, D.C., Stone Ridge combines the qualities of a simple, rural life with the conveniences of the big city; and

WHEREAS, with luxurious residences designed by Van Metre Homes, an award-winning Virginia company, Stone Ridge had grown to house over 7,000 residents by 2010; and

WHEREAS, ensuring that residents’ daily needs are met locally, Stone Ridge is a mixed-use community; it offers countless amenities, including schools, churches, athletic facilities, libraries, and parks, all within walking distance of homes and offices; and

WHEREAS, with its rustic stone buildings creating a tranquil atmosphere, the state-of-the-art Stone Ridge Village Center offers a multitude of shopping and dining options; and

WHEREAS, Stone Ridge is still expanding and plans to include new residential and commercial properties and additional amenities in the future; and

WHEREAS, Stone Ridge celebrates old-fashioned values with its annual Homeowners’ Festival, featuring games, live music, good food, and good friends; and

WHEREAS, Stone Ridge succeeds in its mission to provide for its residents’ needs, allowing them to focus less on travel times and more on relaxing, building friendships, and enjoying life; and

WHEREAS, the residents of Stone Ridge make many valuable contributions to businesses, organizations, and community affairs throughout the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Stone Ridge hereby be commended for providing an outstanding master-planned community in Loudoun County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Stone Ridge as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the community’s success and best wishes on future expansion.
