2013 SESSION
WHEREAS, Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 of the Fraternal Order of Police has provided steadfast advocacy for law-enforcement officers in Loudoun County for 15 years; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 of the Fraternal Order of Police (Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69) was founded in 1998 and is a chapter of the national Fraternal Order of Police, an advocacy group for police officers, comprised of over 325,000 members in 2,100 lodges around the country; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 is committed to improving the working conditions of law-enforcement officers through education, legislation, community involvement, and employee representation; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 acts as a voice for the police officers who dedicate their lives to protecting the residents of Loudoun County, allowing those officers to better serve the community; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 has contributed to many charitable organizations, including the Police Unity Tour, the Loudoun Therapeutic Riding Foundation, the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, the Loudoun County Holiday Coalition, and the Cops and Kids program; and
WHEREAS, Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 takes part in community activities throughout the year, including the Leesburg and Purcellville Fourth of July parades and the Leesburg Halloween parade, and prides itself on being a community-based organization; and
WHEREAS, the members of Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 help defend the Constitution of the United States on a daily basis and enforce the laws of the United States to maintain order and peace; and
WHEREAS, the law-enforcement officers of Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 have consistently shown bravery and excellence in the face of danger and chaos; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 of the Fraternal Order of Police hereby be commended on the occasion of its 15th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Loudoun-Dulles Lodge 69 of the Fraternal Order of Police as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the organization’s contributions to the community and dedication to advocating for police officers.
