HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 178
Commending County Christian School.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 15, 2013

 

WHEREAS, County Christian School, a private academic institution in Ashburn, has provided exemplary service to the community for over three decades; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School was founded in 1980 with an enrollment of 100 students and now serves nearly 400 students in kindergarten through eighth grade; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School received accreditation by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) in 1994, making County Christian School the only ACSI accredited Christian school in Loudoun County; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School has extended its abilities to educate past its doors and into the realm of the Internet, setting up a comprehensive IT curriculum to promote education abroad; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School is the only school in Loudoun County that uses a comprehensive IT curriculum developed by Global Academics in a partnership with the University of Richmond; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School students have the opportunity to participate in many athletic programs and field trips; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School operates as a unified community of servants; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School is committed to being culturally relevant while remaining true to its Statement of Faith; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School equips students with the tools to recognize that their purpose is to use their gifts to better the world around them; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School’s vision is to become an outstanding pre-kindergarten through eighth grade Christian school that develops students of high character; and

WHEREAS, County Christian School strives to have a positive influence on our world, encouraging students to exemplify the Christ-centered person and partnering with Christian families to socially, spiritually, and academically educate their children; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That County Christian School hereby be commended on over three decades of outstanding service to the community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to County Christian School as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the school’s commitment to providing the best opportunities for the youth of Loudoun County.
