2013 SESSION
13105284DWHEREAS, Mohammad Taib, a beloved business owner and dedicated family man from Richmond, died on November 24, 2012; and
WHEREAS, a native of Pakistan, Mohammad Taib had the opportunity to see different lands as a young man while working onboard a Greek cargo ship and eventually immigrated to the United States; and
WHEREAS, Mohammad Taib settled in New York City and worked in construction, as a cook and dishwasher, and as a taxi driver, putting in many long hours to support his growing family; and
WHEREAS, Mohammad Taib then relocated to Virginia, where he owned and operated a convenience store; and
WHEREAS, a familiar face in the neighborhood for nearly two decades, Mohammad Taib made many friends and touched the lives of countless individuals with his generous heart and selfless spirit; and
WHEREAS, dedicated to his family, Mohammad Taib instilled in his children an appreciation for the importance of education and encouraged them to study hard to prepare for their futures; and
WHEREAS, a man of great character, Mohammad Taib will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by many loving family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a respected member of the Richmond community, Mohammad Taib; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Mohammad Taib as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
