2013 SESSION
13105180DWHEREAS, Rodney James Fallon, a dedicated youth athletics coach and a deeply respected member of the Centreville community, died on September 11, 2011; and
WHEREAS, over many years, Rodney Fallon selflessly donated his time and talents to several youth athletic leagues in Fairfax County, coaching hundreds of boys and girls in track and field, wrestling, basketball, baseball, and soccer; and
WHEREAS, as a mentor to his players, Rodney Fallon imparted valuable life lessons about sportsmanship, including the importance of both winning and losing with grace; and
WHEREAS, Rodney Fallon lived his faith through his actions, instructed the youth of Fairfax County with the patience of a teacher, and coached his players with the talent and commitment of an athlete; and
WHEREAS, Rodney Fallon made countless contributions to the community, and his legacy lives on in the many young athletes he inspired to achieve greatness; and
WHEREAS, Rodney Fallon will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Edythe; children, Meredythe, Austin, and Abigail; and many other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Rodney James Fallon, a devoted youth athletics coach and a pillar of the Centreville community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Rodney James Fallon as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
