2013 SESSION
WHEREAS, Mohammad Mehboob, a beloved leader of the Dar AlNoor Islamic Community Center in Manassas who served as president of the Muslim Association of Virginia, died on June 29, 2012; and
WHEREAS, a man of peace known for his kind manner and commitment to serving others, Mohammad Mehboob worked tirelessly to create bonds of friendship among people of different faiths; and
WHEREAS, Mohammad Mehboob labored diligently to help build the Dar AlNoor Islamic Community Center in Manassas and provided strong leadership to the Muslim Association of Virginia, where he worked to include women in leadership roles; and
WHEREAS, Mohammad Mehboob worked to enhance the relationship among different Muslim communities throughout Northern Virginia, reached out to those in need in the community, and took pride in being an American; and
WHEREAS, a respected member of the community, Mohammad Mehboob touched the lives of countless individuals over the course of his life; and
WHEREAS, a devoted family man, Mohammad Mehboob will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his many loving family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a respected spiritual leader, Mohammad Mehboob; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Mohammad Mehboob as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
