HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 863
Commending Wyatt Teller.

WHEREAS, Wyatt Teller, a senior at Liberty High School in Bealeton, was selected to play in the United States Army All-American Bowl football game on January 5, 2013; and

WHEREAS, the United States Army All-American Bowl, the longest running game of its kind, assembles 90 of the nation’s top high school football players for an East versus West matchup in San Antonio, Texas; and

WHEREAS, a defensive end for the Liberty High School Eagles, Wyatt Teller started on the defensive line of the East team in the nationally broadcasted bowl game; and

WHEREAS, in front of the largest crowd in the game’s history, Wyatt Teller and the East team defeated the West team by a score of 15 - 8; and

WHEREAS, after the 2012 season with the Liberty Eagles, Wyatt Teller was named the Virginia High School League Group AA, Region II defensive player of the year; he finished the season with 124 tackles and 11 sacks; and

WHEREAS, receiving offers from schools all over the country, Wyatt Teller chose to attend Virginia Tech and earned a full athletic scholarship; and

WHEREAS, Wyatt Teller admirably represented Liberty High School and Bealeton in the United States Army All-American Bowl; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Wyatt Teller, one of the nation’s top young football players, on being selected to participate in the United States Army All-American Bowl; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Wyatt Teller as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for his toughness, skill, and determination and best wishes for the future.
