2013 SESSION
WHEREAS, Claude Dennis Cash, a longtime tow truck operator and a valued member of Madison Heights, died while assisting with the clean-up of a vehicle crash on February 27, 2012; and
WHEREAS, born in Lynchburg, Dennis Cash would go on to become the owner of Cash’s Garage, his family’s business in Madison Heights; and
WHEREAS, Cash’s Garage is a pillar in the community, providing outstanding service to local residents for over 50 years; and
WHEREAS, a trusted member of the community, Dennis Cash built a reputation for reliability and expert service; and
WHEREAS, going above and beyond vehicle maintenance in his garage, Dennis Cash never hesitated to help a community member, day or night, by bringing his tow truck and his comforting smile; and
WHEREAS, a common sight at vehicle crash scenes, Dennis Cash was an experienced tow truck operator who responded to calls at all hours and in a variety of situations; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Cash was an honorary member of the Monelison Rescue Squad and received an outstanding citizenship award in 1995; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Cash’s family will continue running the Cash Garage, a tribute to his years of exceptional service to hundreds of people in Madison Heights; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Cash enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fellowship with the community at Gethsemane Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Cash is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Audrey; his sons, Gregory, Gordon, Jonathan, and Matthew, and their families; and many loyal customers and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Claude Dennis Cash, a respected business owner from Madison Heights; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Claude Dennis Cash as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
