HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 680 Offered January 9, 2013 Prefiled January 9, 2013 Commending Powell Valley National Bank. ---------- Patron—Kilgore; Senator; Carrico ----------

WHEREAS, Powell Valley National Bank, Jonesville, Virginia, was authorized to commence business on January 1, 1888; and

WHEREAS, Powell Valley National Bank has served with distinction the loan, deposit, and financial needs of the public for over 125 years; and

WHEREAS, Powell Valley National Bank has made significant and long-lasting contributions to the communities in which it serves; and

WHEREAS, Powell Valley National Bank has been recognized by countless civic, community, educational, and other charitable groups for its many and long-term commitments; and

WHEREAS, the board, management, and staff of Powell Valley National Bank devote extensive time in service in a variety of positions within local communities, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the United States; and

WHEREAS, Powell Valley National Bank reflects the qualities of service and community support in the tradition of Virginia banking; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Powell Valley National Bank on the occasion of its 125th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Powell Valley National Bank, the Comptroller of the Currency, the Virginia Bureau of Financial Institutions, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, the Virginia Bankers Association, and the Virginia Association of Community Banks as an expression of the General Assembly’s congratulations.
