Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. Supplemental fee for issuance of special license plates for professional and volunteer firefighters, members of volunteer fire department auxiliaries, members of the Fraternal Order of Police, and members of volunteer rescue squads and volunteer rescue squad auxiliaries.

In addition to any other fees provided for by law, the Department of Motor Vehicles shall impose an additional fee of $10 per year for the issuance or renewal of special license plates issued to professional and volunteer firefighters and members of volunteer fire department auxiliaries pursuant to § 46.2-736 of the Code of Virginia, members of the Fraternal Order of Police pursuant to the second enactment of Chapter 172 of the Acts of Assembly of 2007, and members of volunteer rescue squads and volunteer rescue squad auxiliaries pursuant to § 46.2-735 of the Code of Virginia, provided, however, that such additional fee shall be $2 per year for the issuance or renewal of any such special license plates on or after July 1, 2015.

The proceeds from additional fees collected pursuant to this act shall be paid monthly to the Virginia Public Safety Foundation and used to support the construction, operation, and maintenance of a public safety memorial in the Darden Memorial Garden adjoining Capitol Square.
