13101044DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 56-560.1 as follows:
§ 56-560.1. Additional requirements for long-term leases for the operation or sale of port facilities.
A. Where the responsible public entity is a state agency, then any proposed comprehensive agreement for a qualifying transportation facility that involves the sale of a port facility or a lease to operate a port facility for a period of 10 years or more shall be reviewed by the General Assembly prior to execution.
B. As used in this section:
"Port facility" means the same as that term is defined in § 62.1-140.
"State agency" means any agency, institution, board, bureau, commission, council, or instrumentality of state government in the executive branch listed in the appropriation act.
