CHAPTER 511 An Act to amend and reenact § 3.4, as amended, of Chapter 110 of the Acts of Assembly of 1978, which provided a charter for the Town of Coeburn in Wise County, and to repeal Chapter 3.5 (§ 3.5.1) of Chapter 110 of the Acts of Assembly of 1978, as amended by Chapter 446 of the Acts of Assembly of 2012, relating to town officers. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 3.4, as amended, of Chapter 110 of the Acts of Assembly of 1978 is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 3.4. Powers of council.

The council along with the mayor shall make such rules as are necessary for the orderly conduct of their business not inconsistent with the laws of Virginia and shall have the powers in their discretion to appoint a vice-mayor, town manager, clerk, and treasurer, town attorney, and chief of police, who shall have such duties and shall serve at the pleasure of the council and shall be paid such compensation as the council may determine.

2.  That Chapter 3.5 (§ 3.5.1) of Chapter 110 of the Acts of Assembly of 1978, as amended by Chapter 446 of the Acts of Assembly of 2012, is repealed.
