Commending the Paul VI Catholic High School boys’ basketball team.

WHEREAS, the Paul VI Catholic High School boys’ basketball team from Fairfax capped an outstanding season by winning the Abe Pollin City Title Game; and

WHEREAS, the Paul VI Panthers faced Coolidge High School before a crowd of more than 4,000 at the Verizon Center on March 20, 2012; and

WHEREAS, led by high scorers Patrick Holloway, Coleman Johnson, Jamall Robinson, and Tilman Dunbar, the Paul VI Panthers never trailed throughout the game, demonstrating a strong team effort on both defense and offense; and

WHEREAS, the Paul VI Panthers enjoyed a tremendous season, going undefeated in league play, capturing their first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship, and winning a Virginia private schools title; and

WHEREAS, the success of the Paul VI Panthers is a tribute to the talent and dedication of the players, the leadership of Head Coach Glenn Farello and his staff, and the support of the Paul VI community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Paul VI Catholic High School boys’ basketball team hereby be commended on winning the Abe Pollin City Title Game; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Glenn Farello, head coach of the Paul VI Catholic High School boys’ basketball team, as an expression of the Senate of Virginia’s congratulations and appreciation for the team’s outstanding season and championship performance.
