HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 592 Offered May 10, 2012 Commending the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team. ---------- Patrons-- Purkey, Iaquinto, Knight, and Tata ----------

WHEREAS, the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team capped a perfect season by winning the 2012 Virginia High School League state gymnastics championship title; and

WHEREAS, the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team finished the regular season with a 10 - 0 record to advance to postseason competition; and

WHEREAS, the hard work and talent of the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team was evident as it captured the Beach District regular season and tournament championships and Eastern Region championship; and

WHEREAS, at the state gymnastics championship competition held at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team performed before an audience that included hundreds of team fans to win the state title; and

WHEREAS, the state title win marked the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team’s first Virginia High School League state team title; and

WHEREAS, the triumphant performance of the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team is a result of the team’s dedication and skill, the leadership of the coaching staff, and the support of the Frank W. Cox High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team hereby be commended on winning the 2012 Virginia High School League state gymnastics championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Frank W. Cox High School gymnastics team as an expression of the House of Delegates’ congratulations and admiration for the team’s outstanding season.
