2012 SPECIAL SESSION I
12200183DWHEREAS, the Frank W. Cox High School boys’ swim and dive team from Virginia Beach capped a perfect season by winning the 2012 Virginia High School League Group AAA swim and dive championship; and
WHEREAS, the Frank W. Cox High School boys’ swim and dive team went undefeated throughout the regular season and then captured the district and regional titles to advance to the state championship meet held February 17 and 18, 2012; and
WHEREAS, before an enthusiastic crowd at George Mason University’s Jim McKay Natatorium, the Frank W. Cox High School boys’ swim and dive team set two state records while two team members also captured individual state titles; and
WHEREAS, the state championship win marked the Frank W. Cox High School boys’ swim and dive team’s first ever state team title; and
WHEREAS, the triumphant performance of the Frank W. Cox High School boys’ swim and dive team is a tribute to the dedication and talent of the team members, leadership of the team’s coaching staff, and support of the Frank W. Cox High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Frank W. Cox High School boys’ swim and dive team hereby be commended on winning the 2012 Virginia High School League Group AAA swim and dive championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Frank W. Cox High School boys’ swim and dive team as an expression of the House of Delegates’ congratulations and admiration for the team’s outstanding season.
