2012 SPECIAL SESSION I
WHEREAS, Irene Saunders Hoffler, a longtime resident of the City of Norfolk, has made many contributions to the area for more than a half century through her involvement in civic and community affairs; and
WHEREAS, a native of Zuni in Isle of Wight County, Irene Hoffler has lived in Norfolk for more than six decades, devoting countless hours over the years to supporting numerous worthy causes; and
WHEREAS, Irene Hoffler has taken an active role in community service as an alumna of Jack and Jill of America, Norfolk Chapter; a member of The Girl Friends, Inc., Norfolk Chapter; and a charter member of The Links, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, a woman of great faith, Irene Hoffler has enjoyed fellowship, worship, and service alongside other members of Grace Episcopal Church in Norfolk; and
WHEREAS, a strong and compassionate woman, Irene Hoffler has been an exemplary role model to others throughout her many endeavors, demonstrating great love to those in need and inspiring others in their efforts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Irene Saunders Hoffler hereby be commended for her decades of dedicated service to her fellow Norfolk area residents; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Irene Saunders Hoffler as an expression of the House of Delegates’ appreciation for her commitment to serving the community.
