2012 SPECIAL SESSION I
12200129DWHEREAS, in 2012 Hutchison Farm Elementary School will proudly celebrate 11 years of serving the families of South Riding in Loudoun County; and
WHEREAS, Hutchison Farm Elementary School, under the leadership of principal Heidi Smith, strives to provide a high-quality education for each student and an optimal environment that will aid in the development of the total child for participation in a democratic society and a global community; and
WHEREAS, Hutchison Farm Elementary School’s focus is to provide students with a foundation in academic and social skills so they will achieve academically to their highest potential, learn to think critically and act responsibly, maintain dignity and self-worth, and appreciate customs and heritages; and
WHEREAS, Hutchison Farm Elementary School has brought an awareness to students about health, fitness, and nutrition, with the school’s team winning Loudoun County Public School’s “Lighten Up Loudoun” weight loss competition; and
WHEREAS, Hutchison Farm Elementary School students, with the topic of “To Be or Not To Be,” took first place at the regional Odyssey of the Mind competition held on March 7, 2012, receiving the highest score in all three categories—Long Term, Style, and Spontaneous; and
WHEREAS, Hutchison Farm Elementary School students thrive in an environment where education is viewed as a cooperative effort between home, school, and the community; and where beliefs such as—all students will learn and succeed, students achieve their highest potential with proper guidance, and children should be encouraged to become lifelong independent learners—are fostered; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Hutchison Farm Elementary School hereby be commended on the occasion of its 11th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Heidi Smith, principal of Hutchison Farm Elementary School, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ congratulations and appreciation of the school’s commitment to its students.
