HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 535
Commending Creighton's Corner Elementary School.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 27, 2012

 

WHEREAS, Creighton’s Corner Elementary School, located in Ashburn, is commended for its efforts to encourage the understanding of technology through its Instructional Technology Program; and

WHEREAS, Creighton’s Corner Elementary School, built at the location of what was originally a dairy farm that was later converted to a stock farm by L.B. “Billy” Creighton, opened in 2008 and proudly serves 1,055 students; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of principal Kimberley Berkey, Creighton’s Corner Elementary School, with its Instructional Technology Program, provides computer and technology-based activities through which students can see the application of concepts from academic courses; and

WHEREAS, throughout the year, Creighton’s Corner Elementary School students participate in a variety of technology-rich learning activities and have the opportunity to learn and prepare for future career possibilities; and

WHEREAS, Creighton’s Corner Elementary School students also learn to think of others through participation in numerous humanitarian initiatives, including holding a hat-and-mitten drive; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Creighton’s Corner Elementary School hereby be commended for providing students with the opportunity to learn about technology and its applications through its Instructional Technology Program; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kimberly Berkey, principal of Creighton’s Corner Elementary School, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ appreciation for the school’s commitment to its students.
