HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 530 Offered March 27, 2012 Commending the 2011 - 2012 Potomac Falls High School boys' basketball team. ---------- Patron-- Ramadan ----------

WHEREAS, the 2011 - 2012 Potomac Falls High School boys’ basketball team ended an outstanding season by claiming the Region II boys’ basketball championship trophy; and

WHEREAS, Potomac Falls High School students thrive in a learning community in which individual achievement and personal integrity are supported by students, faculty, and parents; and

WHEREAS, the victory against the Loudoun Valley High School Vikings marked the third consecutive Region II boys’ basketball championship for the Potomac Falls High School Panthers; and

WHEREAS, the entire team—Matt Galloway, Steven Wilson, D’Shawn Shorts, Wanya Allen, Dawson Scholbe, Brandon Orbe, Michael Fischetti, Gregory Graves, Todd Shanosky, Christopher Barton, Taylor Flowers, Jordan Febrache, Steven Tondi, Will Criswell, and Ryan Fort—contributed to the team’s outstanding season; and

WHEREAS, the team enjoyed the excellent leadership of head coach Jeff Hawes, assistant coaches Kip Shallis, Darian Almond, and Brandon Jackson, athletic director Mike Sipe, and athletic trainer Jenny Cleland; and

WHEREAS, the support and encouragement of principal Janice Koslowski and the support of the Potomac Falls High School community inspired the players and coaches on to victory; and

WHEREAS, the championship victory belongs not only to the Potomac Falls High School Panthers basketball team and their world-class coaches, but also to the families and to the students and faculty at Potomac Falls High School; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the 2011 - 2012 Potomac Falls High School boys’ basketball team hereby be commended on winning the Region II boys’ basketball championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the 2011 - 2012 Potomac Falls High School boys’ basketball team as an expression of the House of Delegates’ congratulations on the team’s outstanding season and championship performance.
