HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 526
Commending Mercer Middle School.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 27, 2012

 

WHEREAS, Mercer Middle School, located in Aldie in Loudoun County, is commended for enhancing students’ education through its Technology Education Program; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of principal John Duellman, Mercer Middle School provides a challenging learning experience for all students centered on relationships, mutual respect, creativity, and high expectations; and

WHEREAS, Mercer Middle School’s Technology Education Program gives students the opportunity to experience a wide array of technological systems and applications in a hands-on learning environment; and

WHEREAS, students in Mercer Middle School’s Technology Education Program see the real-world application of concepts they study and gain an initial look at possible career choices; and

WHEREAS, the Mercer Middle School Technology Education Program is exploratory in nature, allowing students to learn and grow in an environment that fosters a sense of personal belonging, mutual respect, and responsible citizenship; and

WHEREAS, Mercer Middle School celebrates the rich diversity of its students as they participate in meaningful experiences and receive engaging and varied instruction from dedicated teachers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Mercer Middle School hereby be commended for its efforts to encourage students’ understanding of technology through its Technology Education Program; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to John Duellman, principal of Mercer Middle School, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ appreciation for the school’s commitment to enhancing students’ technological education.
