Commending Marshall Road Elementary School.

WHEREAS, Marshall Road Elementary School, located in Vienna, will proudly celebrate in 2012 its 50th anniversary of providing an outstanding education to its students; and

WHEREAS, over the years, Marshall Road Elementary School students have received a comprehensive education from dedicated teachers in a nurturing and positive environment led by outstanding administrators and with the support of involved parents; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Road Elementary School plans to honor its 50th anniversary by giving back to the community of which it has been a vital part for the past half century; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Road Elementary School students, teachers, parents, alumni, family, and friends are in the process of completing 50 service projects in the community; and

WHEREAS, the Marshall Road Elementary School parent teacher association hosted a 50th Anniversary Gala at the Westwood Country Club on March 23, 2012, which included a benefit auction; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Road Elementary School students, teachers, parents, alumni, family, and friends have enjoyed taking a look back at the school’s past and participating in service projects to help the community and look forward to the school’s bright future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Marshall Road Elementary School on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jennifer Heiges, principal of Marshall Road Elementary School, as an expression of the General Assembly’s congratulations and appreciation for the school’s commitment to its students.
