SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:

Department of Minority Business Enterprise; certification of employment services organizations.  Provides for the Department of Minority Business Enterprise to certify employment service organizations. Under the bill, "employment services organization" is defined as an organization that provides community-based employment services to individuals with disabilities that is an approved Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredited vendor of the Department of Rehabilitative Services.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Department of Minority Business Enterprise; certification of sheltered workshops.  Provides for the Department of Minority Business Enterprise to certify sheltered workshops. Under the bill, "sheltered workshop" is defined as a nonprofit business entity or organization that offers transitional or supported employment services serving the disabled.
