SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Real Estate Appraiser Board; continuing education. Requires the Real Estate Appraiser Board to evaluate the development of a continuing education curriculum for licensees that includes the effects of the use of energy efficiency and renewable energy equipment on the determination of the fair market value in the appraisal of non-income-producing residential real estate. Under the bill, the Board is required to report its findings to the Chairmen of the House Committee on General Laws and the Senate Committee on General Laws and Technology and the Housing Commission by November 1, 2012. This bill is identical to HB 433.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Real Estate Appraiser Board; continuing education. Requires the Real Estate Appraiser Board to establish requirements for continuing education as a prerequisite to renewal of a license. The bill further provides for the Board to require evidence of knowledge of the use of the income method to calculate values of energy efficiency and renewable energy in the appraisal of residential property as a prerequisite to renewal of any license.
