SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Methamphetamine lab cleanup costs; reimbursement of localities.  Allows localities to provide by ordinance that any person who is convicted of an offense for manufacture of methamphetamine shall be liable to the locality or other law-enforcement entity for the expense in cleaning up any methamphetamine lab related to the conviction. This bill is identical to HB 848.

SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:

Methamphetamine lab cleanup costs; reimbursement of localities.  Allows localities to provide by ordinance that any person who is convicted of an offense for manufacture of methamphetamine shall be liable to the locality for the locality’s expense in cleaning up any methamphetamine lab. The Department of State Police is also permitted to seek reimbursement for its cleanup expense.
