SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Projecting a laser at an aircraft; penalty. Provides that any person who knowingly and intentionally projects a point of light from a laser, laser gun sight, or any other device that simulates a laser at an aircraft is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Projecting a laser at an aircraft; penalty. Provides that any person, except as authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration or the armed forces of the United States, who projects a laser at an aircraft and interferes with the operation of the aircraft threatening life and safety and therefore is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Projecting a laser at an aircraft; penalty. Provides that any person, except as authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration or the armed forces of the United States, who projects a laser at an aircraft shall be deemed to have interfered with or threatened to interfere with the operation of the aircraft and therefore is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor or, if a life is endangered, a Class 6 felony.
