SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

College partnership laboratory schools.  Allows a private institution of higher education that operates a teacher education program approved by the Board of Education to operate a college partnership laboratory school. Currently, only a public institution of higher education that operates a Board-approved teacher education program may do so. Tuition may be charged for courses for which the student receives college credit or for enrichment courses that are not required to achieve a Board-approved high school diploma. This bill is identical to SB 475.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

College partnership laboratory schools; partnering with local school boards.  Allows a public or private institution of higher education that operates a teacher education program approved by the Board of Education to operate jointly with one or more local school boards a college partnership laboratory school.
