SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Hospital discharge; follow-up care. Requires hospitals to educate patients, and in certain circumstances their families, about follow-up care, treatment, and services upon discharge. The bill also requires community services boards to provide information to hospitals about alcohol and substance abuse services available to minors.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Hospital discharge of certain minors; information on services available. Requires hospitals to provide information on available alcohol and substance abuse services to minors who present with alcohol poisoning or a drug overdose. The bill requires hospitals to seek consent to have the local community services board or behavioral health authority follow up with the patient.
