Celebrating the life of Rachel Guerrero Ayoub.

WHEREAS, Rachel Guerrero Ayoub, a dedicated community supporter and public servant, died on January 4, 2012; and

WHEREAS, a native of Texas, Rachel Ayoub grew up in a bustling household as the youngest of 10 siblings and learned the importance of compassion as she watched her parents minister to those in need; and

WHEREAS, after she married, Rachel Ayoub relocated to Richmond with her husband and son and immersed herself in community affairs, including as a volunteer with the local Republican Party; and

WHEREAS, known and admired for her commitment to public service, Rachel Ayoub joined the Office of Senator Walter Stosch as a volunteer, eventually becoming his full-time chief of staff and an invaluable member of his office and his family; and

WHEREAS, known for her infectious laugh, loyalty, patience, and sincere desire to be of service, Rachel Ayoub ably dealt with constituent concerns and professionally worked with other members of the General Assembly and legislative staff for many years; and

WHEREAS, Rachel Ayoub took great pride in helping those in need and exemplified the zeal and hard work of a true public servant; and

WHEREAS, devoted to her family, Rachel Ayoub will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, Sam; son, Larry, and his family, including daughter-in-law, Terry, and grandsons Zack, Ethan, and Alex; numerous other family members and friends; and countless colleagues throughout the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a dedicated and admired community and public servant, Rachel Guerrero Ayoub; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Rachel Guerrero Ayoub as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
