WHEREAS, Christian Stewardship Ministries celebrates 30 years of providing time, money, and life management training based on biblical principles to Christians worldwide in 2012; and
WHEREAS, in 1982, Ken Smith, the founder of Christian Stewardship Ministries, recognized that time, money, and life management skills play a vital role in the effectiveness of followers of the Christian faith as they pursue spiritual, personal, work, and family goals; and
WHEREAS, Christian Stewardship Ministries, an interdenominational ministry headquartered in Fairfax, was formed to provide Christians worldwide with biblically based training and resources in those essential skills to enable them to live abundantly and become effective agents of change; and
WHEREAS, countless individuals have benefited from Christian Stewardship Ministries’ unique time, money, and life management resources, which include tapes, written materials, and a radio program; and
WHEREAS, Christian Stewardship Ministries developed a Life Management Study program of small group classes where individuals meet with a trained leader over the course of several sessions; and
WHEREAS, Christian Stewardship Ministries has provided valuable insight and training to high school, college, and seminary students and others of all ages in how to be wise stewards of their resources in order to be of greater service; and
WHEREAS, Christian Stewardship Ministries’ leaders have shared the organization’s message and resources at speaking engagements at churches and schools; and
WHEREAS, in today’s busy world, where individuals face competing priorities, Christian Stewardship Ministries helps Christians develop ever important time, money, and life management skills so as to more effectively fulfill their callings; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Christian Stewardship Ministries on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Christian Stewardship Ministries as an expression of the General Assembly’s congratulations and admiration for the organization’s commitment to helping others.
