VIRGINIA ACTS OF ASSEMBLY -- CHAPTER An Act to require the Board of Education to develop regulations regarding physical education in public schools. [S 471] Approved

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. That the Board of Education shall promulgate regulations governing physical education programs in public schools.

2.  That the Board of Education, in promulgating the regulations pursuant to this act, shall work with the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Virginia Chapter, the Virginia Association of School Superintendents, the Virginia School Boards Association and other interested stakeholders.

3.  That prior to January 1, 2014, the Board of Education shall promulgate the regulations pursuant to this act to be effective beginning with the 2015 - 2016 school year.
