Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-1113.2 as follows:

§ 15.2-1113.2. Prohibiting the use of compression release engine brakes.

The Town of St. Paul may by ordinance prohibit or regulate the use within its jurisdiction of compression release engine brakes.

Any such ordinance shall provide that appropriate signs shall be erected notifying vehicle operators of the ordinance and may further provide that any person who violates the provisions of such ordinance shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor.
