2012 SESSION
WHEREAS, Liberty Elementary School is commended for its efforts to celebrate STEM Day on April 21, 2012, by integrating a STEM curriculum (Integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Program) into the school; and
WHEREAS, Liberty Elementary School, under the leadership of its principal, Dr. Angela Gwynne-Atwater, strives to ensure that students acquire knowledge and develop skills to be productive citizens in an ever-changing global society; and
WHEREAS, Liberty Elementary School students develop strong thinking skills through inquiry-based teaching and learning in a safe, physical, intellectual, social, emotional, inviting, approachable, and energetic school environment; and
WHEREAS, students benefit from Liberty Elementary School’s strong focus on a secure and positive support system that includes parents, community members, and the school; and
WHEREAS, Liberty Elementary School students thrive in an environment that encourages and respects individuality, celebrates their accomplishments, and has high expectations and a firm belief that all students can learn; and
WHEREAS, Liberty Elementary School looks forward to continuing to provide its students with the highest caliber of education under expert administration, dedicated teachers, and loyal staff; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Liberty Elementary School hereby be commended for its work to celebrate STEM Day on April 21, 2012, by integrating a STEM curriculum (Integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Program) into the school; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dr. Angela Gwynne-Atwater, principal of Liberty Elementary School, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ appreciation and respect for the school’s commitment to science, technology, engineering, and math studies.
