HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 81
Commending the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 10, 2012

 

WHEREAS, the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department celebrates 55 years of serving the community in 2012; and

WHEREAS, the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1957 by members of the Arcola community and the local Lions Club; the first station was constructed with generous donations of land, building supplies, materials, and labor; and

WHEREAS, the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department provides exceptional community-focused fire protection, fire suppression, emergency medical services, and public education; and

WHEREAS, the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department members are highly trained and provide expert care with the latest equipment; and

WHEREAS, the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department works with the Loudoun County Department of Fire, Rescue & Emergency Management and neighboring volunteer companies to provide efficient and effective fire and emergency medical services to surrounding communities; and

WHEREAS, the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department members proudly serve the community while adhering to their core values of respect, integrity, character, professionalism, commitment, safety, and unity; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department hereby be commended on the occasion of its 55th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect and appreciation for the department’s contributions to the community.
