HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 78 Offered March 9, 2012 Commending Community Baptist Church. ---------- Patron-- Ramadan ----------

WHEREAS, Community Baptist Church of South Riding remains focused on the needs of the community 17 years after its formation; and

WHEREAS, founded by Pastor Mike Aylestock and his wife, Betty, Community Baptist Church held its first Sunday service on May 28, 1995, and was organized in November of the same year with 46 members; and

WHEREAS, Community Baptist Church was born as the result of the prayers and financial support of churches in Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, and Indiana, and the generous contributions of the Atlantic Independent Baptist Fellowship and the Virginia Baptist Bible Fellowship; and

WHEREAS, Community Baptist Church members first met in an office park between Chantilly and South Riding before property was purchased in 1999; the church constructed its current building in 2009; and

WHEREAS, Community Baptist Church takes pride in helping individuals build strong relationships and deal with family, financial, and emotional issues as they discover their purpose in life; and

WHEREAS, committed to a vibrant missions program, Community Baptist Church members enthusiastically and joyfully serve in a variety of missions in the community and around the world under the inspired leadership of Pastor Mike Aylestock; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Community Baptist Church hereby be commended for its commitment to serving the community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Community Baptist Church as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for the church’s impact in Northern Virginia and around the world.
