12105918DWHEREAS, Marc L. Finney faithfully served the residents of Brunswick County as a member of the board of supervisors from January 1, 2004, until December 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, dedicated to the well-being of Brunswick County residents, Marc Finney worked diligently alongside fellow supervisors and county officials to ensure the efficient and effective operation of local government; and
WHEREAS, Marc Finney served as a valuable member of the Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, Facilities Committee, Recreational Advisory Committee, and Technology Committee; and
WHEREAS, a respected leader, Marc Finney led the board as chair during 2006 and 2010 and served as vice-chair in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Marc Finney worked collaboratively with area leaders as a member of the local board of public welfare, Meherrin Regional Library System board, Southside Planning District Commission, Improvement Association board of directors, and South Central Workforce Investment Board; and
WHEREAS, an effective public servant, Marc Finney made many valuable contributions to the board of supervisors and Brunswick County during his eight-year tenure; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Marc L. Finney hereby be commended for his service to the Brunswick County Board of Supervisors; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Marc L. Finney as an expression of the House of Delegates’ appreciation for his commitment to public service.
