2012 SESSION
WHEREAS, Billy E. Cuddington, a successful business owner whose deep faith was reflected in his lifetime of service to his family, church, and community, died on October 20, 2011; and
WHEREAS, a native of North Carolina, Billy Cuddington grew up in the farming region near Kenly, where he met and married a young lady named Hilda, the love of his life; and
WHEREAS, the young couple decided to relocate to the Tidewater area of Virginia and Billy Cuddington found work at the USG plant in South Norfolk before opening his own heating and air conditioning business, Billy’s Heating and Cooling; and
WHEREAS, Billy Cuddington owned and operated Billy’s Heating and Cooling for over 50 years, developing a reputation for quality installation and service and building a loyal customer base that valued his fair treatment and caring manner; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Billy Cuddington and his wife opened their home to friends and family from North Carolina who, emboldened by the Cuddingtons’ success, also decided to move to the Tidewater region; and
WHEREAS, Billy Cuddington possessed a vibrant and living faith that was manifested in his selfless service to those around him, whether family members, friends, fellow church members, or customers; and
WHEREAS, a devoted family man, Billy Cuddington will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Hilda; children, Carolyn, Edna, and Susan, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; and
WHEREAS, Billy Cuddington will be forever remembered for his signature “Billyrigged” methods; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of a respected citizen of the Commonwealth, Billy E. Cuddington; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Billy E. Cuddington as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
