HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 24
Commending Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 17, 2012

 

WHEREAS, Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc., was established on February 24, 1912; and

WHEREAS, Hadassah is the largest Jewish women’s Zionist organization in America, with members in every Congressional district; and

WHEREAS, in Israel, Hadassah initiates and supports pace-setting health care, education, and youth institutions; and

WHEREAS, the Hadassah Medical Organization is the most advanced medical facility in the Middle East, renowned for its cutting edge medical research; and

WHEREAS, in the United States, Hadassah enhances the quality of American and Jewish life through its education and Zionist youth programs; and

WHEREAS, a yearlong celebration of Hadassah’s 100th anniversary, involving conferences, festivals, films, lectures, concerts, parties, religious services, and organization of trips to Israel, will be held throughout the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc., hereby be commended on the occasion of its centennial; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Hadassah as an expression of the House of Delegates’ congratulations and best wishes.
